When you meet Olive & June founder Sarah Gibson Tuttle you can’t help but develop a total girl crush! Never mind that she owns the hottest nail salon(s!) in all of Los Angeles she’s also one of the most fun, authentic and hilarious women you’ll come across. I’ve always been amazed at how she managed to open not one, not two but THREE Olive & June locations in between being pregnant, having her baby Noah and then being a clearly devoted mom, that I was thrilled when she allowed me to pick her brain!

When did you know you were ready to be a mom?

I have always wanted to be a mother, but it wasn’t until I felt really settled in my marriage and my career that I felt ready and so excited to start this journey.

Is it everything you expected?

It’s more! Noah is the brightest star in our lives.

What’s the biggest challenge you face balancing being and mom and business owner?

Time. It’s so hard to find the time to do everything, to do both, to feel really genuinely involved in both aspects of my life. I’m used to being an entirely devoted person so the balance is hard!

What 3 pieces of advice would you give to moms wanting to start their own businesses?

Just one: Do it! It’s the most rewarding experience to create a business that people connect with.

What do you do for “you” time?

Baths are my favorite solo activity. There are few opportunities to relax and you are forced to relax in a bath.

What is the one product, TV show or food item you can’t live without right now?

Absolutely loving the Moon Juice Dusts. They come in a variety of intentions – beauty, spirit, brain, etc – and they live up to their names. I’m completely in love with mixing them with half homemade almond milk, half hot water. Try it!
